Viet Film Fest Awards Reception 2023 at Saigon Grand Center Ballroom

The Vietnamese American Arts & Letters Association (VAALA) was founded in 1991 by a group of Vietnamese American journalists, artists, and friends to provide a space for immigrant community artists to express themselves. The Viet Film Fest was created in 2003 by VAALA to showcase the best creative work by and about Vietnamese people. Through the universal language of film, Viet Film Fest brings together multiple perspectives to expand the scope and horizons of Vietnamese cinema and provides networking opportunities with prominent directors, media experts, and producers.

“Viet Film Fest 2023 has not only celebrated the art of filmmaking but also fostered connections and a sense of community among the lovers of Vietnamese cinema,” said Executive Director Ysa Le.

With over two decades of celebrating Vietnamese stories and voices in cinema, Viet Film Fest marks its anniversary and showcases artistic talents with the highly anticipated Trống Đồng Awards Reception at the Saigon Grand Center in Fountain Valley.

VAALA selected the Saigon Grand Center Ballroom for its versatile space, cutting-edge digital projection, LED wall, advanced lighting, and sound system. The planning team enhanced the ballroom with flowers and a palette of copper and cream.

On October 7, 2023, the Trống Đồng Awards Night embraced an artistic theme, celebrating cinematic excellence and creativity. Outstanding films and filmmakers were honored with prestigious awards, recognizing their contributions to the world of cinema.
